Bible Fact: God has given revelation of Himself and His plan for mankind in a special or specific verbal way by directly communicating His truth to certain people in times past.
- He said, 'Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, shall make Myself known to him in a vision. I shall speak with him in a dream. Not so, with My servant Moses... with him I will speak mouth to mouth... (Num 12:6-8a)
- God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets... in these last days has spoken to us in His Son... (Heb 1:1-2a)
Notes
: Special revelation gives ample and sufficient knowledge of God's plan for His people's salvation.
: Most people groups in the world still have vestiges of God's special revelation to mankind (i.e. knowledge of a worldwide deluge, mankind originating from two people, etc.) but they have veered from God's truth and perverted it. (An excellent book on this subject is 'Eternity in Their Hearts' by Don Richardson.)
